St Sarkis Saturday Armenian School

Saturday Armenian School

St. Sarkis Saturday Armenian School’s mission is to embed the rich Armenian culture and language into our children’s minds, as they are the key to a successful future. This includes teaching the Armenian Language, Literature, History, Culture, Culinary Arts, Music, Theatre, Athletics, and Spiritual Discussion. The students are provided with extracurricular activities such as cooking classes, art courses, watching old Armenian films, and spiritual lessons. Each week, a different activity is offered. Last year, on April 25th, the school took its first field trip to the Armenian Genocide Martyrs Memorial Monument where we prayed and learned about the history of the Armenian Genocide and of the monument. An additional field trip was taken on October 24, 2015 to the Passages Museum. The children encountered information about the bible and Christianity. On December 12, 2015 the students had their Christmas party which was organized by the Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Santa Claus visited the school and gave gifts to all the children. The Christmas recital was on December 13, 2015 which was successful as always. 2016 has been an equally exciting year with the very first Saturday School Carnival which took place on April 30, 2016 and was a tremendous success. The children are looking forward to their Year-End recital on June 12, 2016.
